These vehicles built to a design using a metal underframe, body and roof, some 4000 wagons were build between 1886 and 1901.
The 'Iron Minks' were found all over the UK Railway Network even as far up as Inverness. During the wartime these vans made ideal gunpowder vans due to their netal constructions. Some were used during both the first and second world wars.
These wagons started to be withdrawn in the 1930s through to the mid 1960s
